Michelle and her husband, Greg, opened Dogs In Motion Canine Rehabilitation Centers, the first physiotherapy and hydrotherapy centers for dogs in Australia in July 2002, complete with an indoor heated pool. In 2003, she designed and installed the first underwater treadmill for dogs in Australia. As her business grew, she installed a second underwater treadmill in a veterinary referral practice in Melbourne in 2005.

In 2004, she completed her Masters of Animal Studies through the University of Queensland with her research demonstrating the benefits of early post-operative physiotherapy following cruciate surgery, being published in the American Journal of Veterinary Research.

She has two locations delivering animal physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to dogs from all over Melbourne. Since opening the first centers in 2002, more than 35,000 dogs have used her pool and 10,000 dogs have exercised in her underwater treadmills, making Michelle the most experienced Aquatic Animal Physiotherapist in Australia.

She is actively involved in continuing education in the animal physiotherapy field and teaches courses to physiotherapists, veterinarians and veterinary nurses both in Australia and overseas every year.
